CHARLIE Brake’s ‘girlfriend’ Kimberley Owen has claimed they are just “friends” and has insisted she is not to blame for his split from Love Island’s Ellie Brown.
The daughter of New Zealand billionaire tycoon Steve Owen admitted she spent time with the reality hunk in millionaire’s playground Monaco but denied they sparked a romance.
She shared photos on her public Instagram of an interview with Spy, and told the publication: “Charlie and I are just friends. It was a big coincidence that we were both in Monaco.
“His father has a house there and my father’s boat was docked there last week.”
The pair were reported to have stayed on her father’s super yacht, Zulu, for the Monaco Yacht Show, and she clarified: “Reports that he was staying on our yacht are false.
“He did not even come on board. But we did all catch up as a group of his friends and mine at Buddha Bar. We had a great night.”
She added: “I want to reinforced that I’m not the reason for Charlie and Ellie’s break-up. That is their business.
Kimberley, who was recently engaged to be married to property developer boyfriend Greg Slade, but the pair also split, says she was shocked by the attention her friendship with Charlie has received.
She said: “I have never watched Love Island and the size of its following and reaction to the story has blown me away.
“I had no idea how big that show is over here.”
Last week rumours swirled that Charlie had moved on from Ellie with Kimberley, after she shared a video of the 23-year-old laughing as they enjoyed an intimate meal together.

A a source told the Mail Online at the time: “He is romantically involved with Kimberley.
“It’s obviously early days because he has only recently separated from Ellie.
“He is spending time with Kimberley in Monaco and enjoying her company.”

However, Charlie told friends he dumped Ellie, 20, because he was sick of her controlling nature.
And her fellow Love Island alumni Laura Anderson recently told The Sun Online that Ellie was left “heartbroken” when Charlie announced their split on Instagram without her knowledge.
Laura explained: “She’s fine now but she had no idea whatsoever that was coming.”
